Friends of TYRMC/MNO:

Help us make Rendezvous 2017 a success by reaching out to about sponsorship opportunities.

In hosting a contemporary Métis Rendezvous this fall, we will honour a longstanding cultural tradition and celebrate the contributions of the Métis Nation in Canada's founding. Rendezvous 2017 will be the first of it's kind in Toronto & York Region!

Métis Rendezvous 2017:
Métis people in Toronto and York Region will share knowledge and culture through art, music, dance, crafts, games, and food. Rendezvous 2017 will also offer non-Indigenous people the opportunity to learn about the beautiful and unique history and culture of the Métis Nation through performances, cultural teachings, and storytelling!

The Toronto & York Region Métis Council:
The TYRMC represents the vibrant and contemporary Métis community of Toronto and York Region and forms part of the Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO). The council represents MNO citizens living within Toronto and York Region, offering cultural and educational programming for Métis people and the wider community.
The Métis are a distinct Indigenous people with a unique culture drawn from both our First Nations and European ancestors. The genesis of this new people resulted from generations who came to express a collective way of life, community, language, governance structure, traditional territories, and history.

We need your support:
We need your help to make this celebration a success! The spirit of reconciliation is central to the work of the TYRMC so we prioritize building relationships between our Council and other organizations, governments, and communities.
The Toronto Foundation has generously funded a large portion of Rendezvous 2017, but we are seeking top-up funds and in-kind donations to bring in Métis Knowledge Keepers, renowned Métis performers, and traditional games and foods.
