Geographic Boundaries

The Community represented by the Toronto and York Region Metis Council is described geographically as follows:  South East beginning at the Lake Ontario shore at Scarborough, follow Hwy 68 North until in turns into Hwy 48 and continue North through Sutton to the Shores of Lake Simcoe at Franklin Beach. From Franklin Beach in a Western direction follow the shoreline of Lake Simcoe to the mouth of Holland River, follow Holland River South West, when the Holland River intersects with Hwy 8, follow Hwy 8 in a South West direction until Hwy 8 intersects with Hwy 9, follow Hwy 9 West until you reach Tecumseth Pines. From Tecumseth Pines draw a vertical line south to the Shores of Lake Ontario at Long Branch, and then proceed east along the shores of Lake Ontario until you reach Scarborough. 


Toronto & York Region Métis Council forms a part of the Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO).  As such, the council is the democratic representative of the citizens of the MNO who live within the geographic territory described in our MNO Community Charter Agreement.
